How long does it take to get set-up?
Once you have made your decision to proceed, Cayman Gateway allocates you an experienced and dedicated account manager who will help you with the two main aspects of the set-up.
Your dedicated account manager will help you with your merchant account (if you do not already have one) by liaising with your bank and helping you correctly fill out your forms. Once your forms are submitted, the banks indicate an average of 3 weeks for your merchant account to be approved and put live. Simultaneously, Cayman Gateway will set up your payment processing system, and to date, we have always completed this before your merchant account is ready.
In all, we estimate from start to finish that a 3-week set-up timeframe is realistic if you do not have a merchant account with a bank already set up, and 1-2 weeks if you already have a merchant bank account set up (it is possible to set up your payment processing in single days if you have everything ready, i.e. your merchant bank account and functioning website/mobile app).

You do not need a Cayman business to use Cayman Gateway. However, you do need to have a Cayman merchant bank account in order for Cayman Gateway to be used.
